Key rules
- Import pre registration. The SIRA system was replaced in December 2023 by SEDI, a statistical declaration. SEDI itself was then abolished by ARCA and Secretariat of Industry and Commerce Joint General Resolution 5651/2025, effective 26 Feb 2025. Importers no longer file advance information under either system.
- Import FX payment. Goods cleared after 14 Apr 2025 can be paid without a BCRA minimum term. See FX.
- Export duties. Decree 423/2026 (published 3 Jun 2026, in force 4 Jun 2026) cut wheat and barley duties by 2 points. Soybeans stay at 24% in 2026, then fall 0.25 points a month from January 2027 to 21% in December 2027, and 0.5 points a month to 15% from December 2028. Soy oils fall from between 18% and 22% to between 11% and 13.5%, and meal and pellets to 14%, by the end of 2028. Corn, sunflower and sorghum follow their own schedules in the decree's annexes.
- Import tariffs. Argentina applies the Mercosur common external tariff with national exceptions, adjusted by decree.
Product level tariff changes are frequent and are not tracked in this version.
